Learn More / How Can I Help?

Below are a few ways I've found helpful in learning more about the situation. I've also listed some practical ways to help. These suggestions may seem like insignificant steps, but it's a start—and now is time to start. There will be a time for greater ways to serve, but today we will do what we can.

Several of these items relate to Bethlehem Bible College. The staff and students of BBC are true servants making a difference to help ease the suffering in their community. I'm grateful to them for their generosity and highly recommend coming alongside them in their work of service. I'm encouraged by the number of people who have visited Bethlehem Voices online and who are beginning to look for their place in engaging this horrible spiral of suffering. My best to all of you,

Ted Haddock

Practical Ways to Help

· Write a letter to the White House and your Congressional representatives, telling them that we cannot ignore the suffering and cruelty levied against the Palestinian people. No matter what opinions we hold, we can all agree that we must protect the helpless who are being terrorized. We have the power to intervene.

· E-mail letters of encouragement to students and staff at Bethlehem Bible College: bethbc@planet.edu Get to know them and remind them that they're not forgotten.

· Bethlehem Bible College Gift Shop: Buy quality Christmas gifts and decorations at the Bethlehem Bible College Gift Shop--an outreach helping local families sell their handcrafted goods in a community whose economy has collapsed. Unemployment has soared over 60%: http://www.bethlehembiblecollege.edu/~giftshop.html

· Shepherd Society: Support the Shepherd Society--an outreach of BBC providing financial gifts for specific, one time needs to those in the community who need it the most (for food, living expenses, etc). This is a practical way of showing love to our neighbors--both Christians and Muslims. Contact Bethlehem Bible College: bethbc@planet.edu
